The information for this book has come to me in dreams---
lots of soul searching of experiences I had just by watching my people
self-destruct. I talked to people of different ethnic groups, people in different
professions, senior citizens, neighbors, and relatives especially my
nephew John Lee...My grandchildren and great grand children.
I love all children. They hold a special place in my heart!
Elementary, Junior-High, High School and college---
I just love to see them going to school and seizing the opportunities
to be and do whatever they want to do.
It Takes A Whole Village

This book is based upon an old African proverb that says,
“It Takes a Village to Raise a Child”.
Most of the material has come from inspiration; I started writing this book in 1997. And I guess I was commissioned look out for our neighbors especially, the older ones. The caring,
as well as my knowledge of African American history,
through Culture, and customs passed down from my parents
and others, living in the villages throughout the U.S.A.
to write this book, as a reminder to the young people that they are not
living up to the expectations of our African slave Ancestors and
African-American Forefathers.
My Mom established a pattern for us. We would go around and
sharing, and heart-felt concern for our neighbors became a part
of us. And even now, that is just who we are.
Glancing back at how concerned people in the village were about
young people; having a better life, and comparing it to now, I believe,
we would be better off today, if neighbors lived by the concept that!
